Home Product Getting Started

1. Load Your Spreadsheet

  • Upload your spreadsheet into Google Docs. You can create a free account here.
  • Launch Eureka and login with your Google Account.
  • Select the Datasource Icon and double-click on the worksheet you want to analyze.

Eureka expects values in the first row of the worksheet to be the names of the columns. It is strongly recommended that users freeze the worksheet's first row, using Sort > Freeze Rows.

2. Create A View

  • Eureka puts your headers into two lists: Dimensions and Measures.
  • Dimensions are the categorical items that you drag and drop into the Rows, Columns, and Filters.
  • Measures are the numeric items that you drag and drop into the Data to aggregate and summarize (i.e. sum, minimum, maximum, average).
  • Click on "Click To Update" to see your new view.
  • Change your view to a Table, Bar, Column, Area, Line, or Pie Chart by clicking on the View Type Icon.

3. Share Your Insight

  • Give your view a name by clicking on "Add Title".
  • Bookmark any view you want to return to and share. Eureka keeps track of all your views as you explore your data.
  • Control who can see your views by sharing or publishing the Google spreadsheet.
  • To share your current view with someone, send them the URL link or bookmark from your browser.
